As part of the Product Team, the Merchandising Analyst plays a key role in identifying the product needs of the business by deeply entrenching themselves in the Hearts On Fire assortment, reporting, trends, and influencing future development through data rich intel, historical data, and gaps within the offering. This person is responsible for preparing and developing standard reporting and trend analyses to support local, global and category business opportunities while assessing the differences in each distribution. The Merchandising Analyst will deliver accurate information to key business leaders within the organization that helps drive decisions based on product sales, pricing, margin and inventory performance. In addition, they assist with ad hoc reporting and presentations for various business needs as well as coordinating annual category planning efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Prepares and issues weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on key performance metrics as it relates to the wholesale business, total business, and regional. This includes, but not limited to, Merchandising Dashboard, Sales Trend Analysis, and Retailer specific analysis
•Owns the HOF/TJS pricing process. Ensures new product introduction and current assortment pricing is aligned with market/competitors while maintaining appropriate premium. Understands cost components and impact on HOF margin objectives by product type. Acts as primary resource for pricing review team, ensuring all jewelry prices accurately reflected in Ax, Lifeline and website
•Produces post-launch sales information to guide sales team on market penetration and potential opportunities for saturation
•Assesses underperforming styles, SKUs, categories or collections and makes recommendations to discontinue products
•Identifies product opportunities by analyzing sales performance across all price points, categories, and styles. Influences designers and merchants to make better future launch decisions based on data. Provides Director of Design with visual reporting as a tool to develop smarter products based on performance
• Hosts monthly Sales Trend Analysis meetings that supply the Sales team with market insights and potential expansion or investigation. Provides commentary and key learnings prior to working individually with each Regional Director to best identify where the opportunities lie
•Provides ad-hoc reporting across all departments to support day to day functions in addition to key company initiatives
•Partners with the Sales team to aggregate sales on a product and regional level, including supporting analysis
•Maintains a strong relationship with the VP of Finance to ensure accuracy of data is pulled, as well as keeps up-to-date on the most current data warehouse updates, pricing adjustments, currency conversions, and up-to-date diamond costs/pricing.
•Five years of product analysis or planning experience, as it relates to product
•Strong analytical and conceptual skills
•Ability to be art of a team, set challenging standards, and develop strong partnerships
•Excellent PC skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft applications; Power BI a plus
•Excellent verbal and written communication
