Now for a little more about Tara…
American actress and fashion designer Tara Subkoff is a true 21st century style icon who has starred in more than 27 films, including The Cell, As Good As It Gets, Freeway and The Notorious Bettie Page.
Tara broke into the fashion industry in 2001 with the launch of Imitation of Christ – an artistic collection based on hand sewn, vintage inspired pieces that quickly became an international fashion sensation and garnered her a cult-like following.
The Imitation of Christ shows have been some the most talked about during each NYC Fashion Week, due to Tara's innovative themes and adventurous tactics. As a result, her loyal celebrity following includes Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Owen Wilson, Anjelica Huston, Rufus Wainwright, Helena Christianson, and Chloe Sevigny, some of whom have starred on her runways themselves.
Internationally, Tara has shown twice at the Paris Couture Shows and she curated a seven day fashion installation at the Carlton Festival of the Arts in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She has also showed Imitation Couture in Hydra, Greece.
Tara recently brought back Imitation of Christ in its most basic incarnation: easy-to-wear staples with an edgy feel. Tara continues her no-sweatshop policy and maintains her use of organic fabrics and has expanded into a lower price point line, “Imitation,” inspired by Coco Chanel and her use of jersey.
